You're not an old fogie - I am. I remember 'Gunsmoke' as a 15 minute show in the 1950's, extended to 30 minutes.
Then an hour. Dennis Weaver co-starred early on with Ken Curtis and Milburn Stone later on.
Ken Curtis was one of "The Sons of the Pioneers" who were popular singers of the time. I agree 100% about the Medicare Gap Insurance coverage commercials ; remember, they have zero to do with the government and are simply bottom feeders.

I was bored with them all 50 years ago or more. In 1959, 9 of the top 10 shows were westerns. Even 'Star Trek' which came along later was initially described as "Wagon Train in Space".
